Admittedly, I’m not as much of an experienced traveler as I’d like to be. Most of my traveling consists of being stuck in a car driving from North Carolina to Florida. However, this past April I was lucky enough to fly out to sunny California to attend our first Field Service USA conference on behalf of Field2Base.
This was my first time ever stepping foot in California, so I was extremely excited to see what the week had in store for us. One of the most interesting aspects that I found were all the different industries that were represented at the event. I knew to expect many field service automation companies; however, there were many others that were more geared towards larger industries like advanced wearables technology and Toshiba, augmented reality (AR) and Atheer, and artificial intelligence (AI) represented by companies like EMCOR. I follow these topics closely on social media, so it was extremely inspiring to hear and see them live in action.
The next part of the event that I enjoyed the most was the resort itself. The conference was held at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and man, was it beautiful! Again, this was my first time traveling across the country and my first time attending a tradeshow conference for work, so I was certainly blown away at the venue. Since the resort is so large, it didn’t feel crowded or that we were all squished, on top of each other…. even with the Coachella music festival going on the same weekend! I am looking forward to planning a leisure trip back to Palm Springs in the future.
Lastly, the best part of the trip for me was hearing all the positive comments and feedback about Field2Base and our marketing efforts. We re-designed our logo, brand colors and website last year in 2017, so it was especially comforting to hear comments like “I love your colors” and “Your shirts really stand out” from attendees. We additionally held a successful educational presentation on the benefits of #GoingPaperless. It was a marketing team goal of ours to expand our brand recognition, so sponsoring Field Service USA really proved to be a big help to achieve that goal.
I had such a great time in Palm Springs learning about the market and the technological advancements on the horizon for field service businesses, large and small. The folks at World Business Research did a great job executing the conference and I appreciate all the support we received before, during and after the event.
